Venue Policies

Privicy Policy

District 34 respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and applicable Australian privacy laws.

Information We Collect

• Names, phone numbers, email addresses, booking details, event requirements, payment/invoicing details and supplier or guest information supplied for an event.

 

• CCTV footage, incident records, security logs and venue attendance information where required for safety and compliance.

 

• Website, enquiry form, analytics, cookie and marketing preference information.

How We Use Information

• To respond to enquiries, manage bookings, coordinate events, process payments, maintain venue safety, meet legal obligations and improve our services.

 

• To send marketing communications where permitted or where consent has been provided.

Disclosure

• Information may be shared with booking platforms, payment providers, IT providers, event suppliers, security, insurers, advisers, regulators and law enforcement where required.

 

• District 34 does not sell personal information.

Access, Correction and Complaints

• Individuals may request access to or correction of personal information held by District 34.

 

• Privacy concerns can be sent to kel@district.com.au. If unresolved, complaints may be referred to the OAIC.

Refund Policy

This refunds policy applies to venue hire, private functions, ticketed events, prepaid services, deposits and bonds unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Venue Hire Deposits

• All booking deposits are non-refundable.

 

• Deposits may be transferred to a new date with at least 14 days written notice, subject to availability and management approval.

Cancellations

• Cancellations with 14 or more days written notice may be eligible for a date transfer only.

• Cancellations within 14 days may forfeit payments already made.

• Cancellations within 7 days may result in the full booking balance remaining payable.

Ticketed Events

• Tickets are non-refundable for change of mind or no-shows.


• Refunds may be available if District 34 cancels an event, significantly reschedules an event, or where required
under Australian Consumer Law.

Bar Tabs, Packages and Catering

• Unused prepaid bar tabs or beverage packages are refundable only where agreed in writing prior to the event.


• Custom catering, suppliers or confirmed orders may be non-refundable once committed.

Damage and Cleaning Bonds

• Bonds are refunded within 3 to 7 business days after inspection where no deductions apply.


• Deductions may apply for damage, excessive cleaning, missing items, security incidents, breaches or unpaid
charges.

BYO, BAR AND RSA POLICY

District 34 operates in accordance with responsible service obligations and venue safety requirements.

BYO Alcohol

• BYO may be approved for private functions only and must be agreed in writing before the event.


• BYO does not remove the requirement for RSA compliance, bar staff or management supervision where
required.


• Unapproved BYO alcohol may be refused, removed or held by management.

Responsible Service of Alcohol

• District 34 reserves the right to refuse service to intoxicated, disorderly, abusive or unsafe patrons.


• Management may stop or restrict alcohol service where required for safety, compliance or licensing reasons.


• Guests must follow all staff, security and management directions.

Bar Tabs and Packages

• Bar tabs and packages must be confirmed before the event.


• Clients are responsible for approved bar tab limits and any agreed overages.

SECURITY, BEHAVIOUR AND DAMAGE POLICY

This policy protects guests, staff, suppliers, property and the safe operation of District 34.

Security

• Security may be required for any event at the discretion of District 34.


• Security costs may be payable by the hirer where applicable.


• Security and management may refuse entry or remove patrons for safety or compliance reasons.

Behaviour

• Zero tolerance applies to violence, threats, abuse, harassment, illegal substances, weapons, unsafe conduct or
property damage.


• Guests must behave respectfully toward staff, security, performers, suppliers and other patrons.

Damage and Cleaning

• The hirer is responsible for damage caused by guests, suppliers or contractors.


• Repair, replacement, excessive cleaning, missing items and compliance breach costs may be deducted from the
bond or invoiced separately.

CCTV AND VENUE SAFETY POLICY

District 34 uses reasonable safety and security measures to protect patrons, staff, suppliers and property.

CCTV

• CCTV may operate inside and outside the venue for safety, security, incident review and compliance purposes.


• Footage may be provided to police, emergency services, insurers, advisers or regulators where lawful or
reasonably necessary.

Safety Directions

• Patrons and suppliers must follow venue safety directions, emergency procedures, capacity controls and staff
instructions.


• Unsafe equipment, behaviour or installations may be refused or removed.
